Internet access inequality is a universal issue and having affordable internet access is also a universal issue. Having internet access is considered as having luxury and half of the world lacks that luxury. Many African countries still face internet inequality, and South Africa is one of those countries. Lack of development contributes to this issue, as we are speaking there are people faced with extreme poverty, do they think of having an internet connection? in the midst of poverty, the answer is no. Income inequality and inequality of opportunities lead to this issue. There are wider issues that come with the inequality of having the internet. The rate of unemployment is always on the rise having the advantages of internet access can ease that problem as there are online jobs that individuals can do given they have internet access. Inequality of internet access also affects the education sector which results in inequality in education, especially for students/learners in low-income communities who suffer the most. Rural schools are considered behind with resources and services and urban schools are more developed, People then move from rural to urban areas in pursuit of "advantages". it is then justifiable to say that inequality in internet access is one of the roots of problems in societies.
